How to avoid scams

Here are some questions to ask yourself.

Are you being pressured to act immediately?
Imposters like to create a sense of urgency by using threatening language or rush to action/payment with a deadline.
Pause for a moment to make sure an email, call, or SMS is legitimate.

Did someone request your personal information?
Did it come from an unknown source?
Don’t share any personal info like your Card number, bank details, or codes via social media, SMS, emails, and calls.

Are they asking for unusual methods of payment?
Examples include gift cards, wire transfers, or payment apps.
Remember, don’t share gift card codes, one-time codes, and more unless you can confirm the identity of the recipient. Legitimate businesses nor the government will ever ask for these types of payments.
